  • No longer boots on the ground

Not the Reveal I used to listen. I feel like it’s gotten PBSified (biased) & no longer tells the well researched, thoughtful pieces. It’s more of an echo chamber & I no longer want to listen. Really a long time journalist knows what’s presently happening on the ground from afar? Very old timey. :( Pity-it had been amazing.

Q: What are the potential futures if the liberal international order collapses or is eroded?
Possible futures include a return to anarchy with major power rivalries or a rebalanced order where mid-sized powers like Canada or a multilateral coalition take the lead, potentially offering more fair and effective governance if the U.S. abdicates.

Trump’s Impulsive Foreign Policy Is Tearing Apart the Global Order
Q: Daniel Immerwahr, how would you define the modern American empire and how is Trump's approach similar or different from traditional imperial policy?
Immerwahr explains that while the United States has imperial reach through bases and influence, Trump's approach is not traditional empire-building; it's transactional, unpredictable, and skeptical of long-term costs, which undermines the liberal international order.
