Finfluencers are out of control. One have 100 stocks… man, get vun and vcn and chill. The other one don’t understand how Visa works and is not able to see the allocation he has through etf… And people give them money to talk retirement and stocks haha

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep 39 - Live Season Finale
Q: Dave asks about OpenText and whether there are any Canadian dividend growers that look like good value now.
They explain OpenText's cloud data organization niche and their lack of confidence in explaining its competitive edge, leading to a decision to sell. They also discuss OpenText as a case study in not owning or overvaluing tech you don't understand, and suggest focusing on companies with clearer business models and value.
Ep 20 - You Ask, We Answer
Q: How would you invest money needed for a down payment 12 months from now?
I'd invest in cash ETFs or high interest savings accounts due to stock market volatility.
Ep 20 - You Ask, We Answer
Q: Does CPP factor into your retirement plan?
No, it is considered the cherry on top of the sundae.
Ep 17 - Is The 60/40 Portfolio Dead?
Q: Should investors consider GICs instead of bonds?
GICs may provide simpler, more stable options compared to the complexities and volatility associated with the bond market.
Ep 17 - Is The 60/40 Portfolio Dead?
Q: Why would somebody look at having a substantial portion of their portfolio in bonds today?
With low yields on bonds reducing their attractiveness, especially when stock returns can outperform, many investors question their place in a modern investment strategy.
