  • Started listening after the Canadian Couch Potato podcast (which I

also/still recommend to friends) wrapped up. The hosts Ben, Cameron, Dan, Mark and new Ben come well-prepared to discuss the topic(s) at hand. The guests they host are experts in their field and often seem to be fans of the podcast themselves. Best of all, the hosts are not afraid to challenge their own well-informed perspectives and leave room for disagreement (thinking factor tilt vs. cap weighted). All around amazing podcast!... more

  • A truly valuable evidence based podcast

I’ve been listening to The Rational Reminder for a while now, and it’s become one of my favorite sources of insight on investing, personal finance, and decision making. Ben and company do a great job of blending evidence-based thinking with humility & curiosity.

What I really appreciate is how the show avoids hype. Instead, it focuses on clarity, education, and practical wisdom grounded in research. Even complex topics are, most of the time, explained in a way that’s engaging and easy to follow... more

  • Like a drug

This podcast is SO good it makes me sad. I’ve now finished every episode of Rational Reminder, watched every video on CSI, and even read Ben’s original Globe and Mail article in 2013. Switching from daily to weekly listening makes me sad as I’ve enjoyed listening to the wide range of topics from Andrew Chen’s cross-sectional asset pricing to Ben talking about his man-bits and gassy lentil diet. Since listening I’ve learned a lot about my own investing shortcomings and utilized the evidence based... more

  • The Best Finance Podcast

The Rational Reminder Podcast is the only finance podcast that I feel comfortable recommending to friends and colleagues. The latest episode with Mark Higgins was great. I’m fascinated by the intersection between history and finance. I just finished reading his book “Investing in U.S Financial History”. I would encourage anyone with similar interests to give it a go.

To Ben and team - have you considered doing an episode on the differences between money market funds, short term treasury ETFs, h... more

  • Favorite Podcast

This podcast has changed my life. I started listening as a senior in high school, and it was the reason I chose to study finance in college. I stumbled upon Ben's Common Sense Investing videos on YouTube (awesome, btw) which led me here. I loved the recent episode on covered calls, and I would be very interested to know Ben's take on buying long-term call options (LEAPS) on indices like the S&P500 that are deep in-the-money. Would this be ok as a portion of a portfolio for someone like me in the... more
