These guys are dope musicians and amazing educators—this podcast is a great resource; I can spend hours listening to them nerd out over practice routines. The Scott Pellegrom interview was especially fire.

  • Love it - wish sound was better

    Hey guys

Love your podcast - FUN entertaining and both Damon and Marco are outstanding... I just wish Marco didn’t sound like he was under the ocean sometimes.

Favorite episodes: MONTALVO (by far) AND IRIZARRI - some artists also sound not TGAT optimal like the PAOLI MEJIAS episode.

In Plena, seguidor, punteador (segundo), and requinto form a three-tier pandero ensemble, while in Bomba you have bullaoel drums, primo/subidoel, maraca, and cua; the drummer interprets the dancer's nonverbal cues to sustain and evolve the rhythm in real time.
