  • Random Mormon

This guy reminds me of the guy I see at church. He thinks they know about everything. Somebody may call them a one upper no matter what store you tell they’ve done it just a little bit better or it happened to them and it was just a little bit worse. It’s like watching a car crash!

  • Excellent Podcast

I’m writing a review because I saw lots of bad reviews from people who clearly don’t agree with Greg’s take on things. My husband and I listen on the regular and talk about your episodes! This is a great podcast, he really tries to understand where others are coming from but also stands firm in truth. Some may not like that, that’s on them, not on Greg. Excellent podcast.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Are LDS Becoming Baptist?
Q: Why does the guest think these language changes might be happening at a leadership level?
He argues it could be driven by a desire to restart growth and appeal to conservatives and Protestants, including making church messaging more palatable to outsiders, as evidenced by 2018-era data inflection points and public statements about engagement and outreach.
Are LDS Becoming Baptist?
Q: What are the main changes Lance has observed in the church's language and policies over the years?
Lance points to a shift from orthodox Mormon terminology to grace-centric and more evangelical language, changes in temple and meeting-house aesthetics, and an emphasis on Jesus and a broader Christian framing, which he views as both intentional leadership strategy and a cultural shift.
Christianity's Vulnerability to Wokeness
Q: Why is modern subjectivity seen as a danger to Christian virtue, and how should believers respond?
Modern subjectivity puts the self at the center, risking a rejection of concrete virtue and institutional authority; Christians should reaffirm the intrinsic goodness of virtue, natural law, and communal norms while understanding grace as perfecting nature rather than destroying it.
Parents Are Tired Of Paying For Their Kids To Lose Testimonies - feat. New SVU President, Aaron Hale
Q: Is it important? And why do we have the back and forth on this?
Standardized testing provides a baseline to compare schools, helps identify standards to meet, and remains valuable when used in context with other indicators of student ability and preparation.
Parents Are Tired Of Paying For Their Kids To Lose Testimonies - feat. New SVU President, Aaron Hale
Q: All right, so President Hale, there's been a lot of news about standardized testing recently. What are your thoughts on standardized testing?
It is an important predictor and a useful proxy for college success, especially for students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds who may lack access to test preparation; it should be used thoughtfully as part of a broader evaluation rather than the sole measure.
