I have been following the podcast for a year or so now and the information and knowledge I gain just fuels my passion for advocacy and continuing to learn, research and really making an impact in the state of Kentucky.
My work is in child abuse prevention policy, and I recommend Community In-Site every chance I get. Grounded in work with the Thriving Families Safer Children project, this podcast is at the forefront of dialogue between systems & lived expertise. The hosts have been incredible, and I’ve had the opportunity to tell current host Valerie Frost that her hearing her interviews is like getting a master class in listening as solidarity.
Such a wonderful podcast for anyone looking to build positive communities in a way that centers families and parent voice. Bravo to the hosts. It’s a staple in my pod queue.
I love when I see a new episode of Community In-Site reach my feed. Community is about authenticity, family, consistency, transparency and care - and Valerie exemplifies all of these values and more. Her communication style is so easy to listen to and not only does she share from her own lived expertise, she also draws in every guest and listener to share insightful thoughts and experiences that challenge me in the best ways. Excited to hear more!
As a lawyer who has worked both sides of the aisle and had an ACE score of an 8, I think this podcast is a must listen. It is educational but also relatable due to the host’s, Valerie Frost’s, lived experience. A family’s resilience comes from community. The more we enter these spaces with curiosity and humility, the more we can help prevent trauma.
