Initially I was angry with my own mother for not having ‘the race talk’ with me during my first encounter with BLATANT racism. I could sense that my father definitely wanted to talk about it but mum (pun intended) didn’t and as a result, I basically spent several years working and figuring it out on my own. That said, the racism element that Doria mentioned confirmed what I had already surmised; PROTECTING and SHIELDING me from the difficulties and now I get it!! You ladies are doing a PHENOMENA... more
