It's incredibly frustrating to hear opinions on children from people who have no children. Many parents - especially those with shared custody - desperately want MORE time, including vacations. And children can absolutely be influenced by parents, but the default should always be "believe children." As in, start from a place of believing children and proceed to investigate from there.
