  • Eclectic and always intriguing

Mike has a way of bringing a varied group of interviewees to the show each week, and with his calm demeanor (but yet sincerely interested attitude) delivers a series of what feel like impromtu questions that put the guests at ease and allows them a platform to expand on a multitude of fascinating topics. Mike take a backseat to his guest and lets them "shine".

  • Surprisingly NOT morbid

Don’t let the name fool you—this is a podcast about LIFE and humanity and how each of us navigate the bigger questions and struggles we’ll all inevitably face. Mike is an endlessly curious guy who genuinely enjoys hearing different perspectives on life, death, and relationships and makes each episode feel as distinct as each guest. It’s like getting to be a fly on the wall while two friends have a heart to heart over a beer. It’s honest—and that’s a gift in a world where so much isn’t. Highly re... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#273 - Fundamental Rationalist - Daniel Bookman
Q: You've been to rabbinical school, you've studied deeply about the Torah... how do they teach you to talk about Jesus as a person?
From a Jewish scholarly perspective, Jesus can be seen as a Jew who was a reformer of his time; he did not intend to reform Judaism nor claim deity. The discussion emphasizes understanding Jesus within the historical and ethical monotheism framework rather than as a divine figure.
#266 - Legacy Planner - Laura Roser
Q: How do you approach sharing difficult personal experiences publicly, like the DOJ/SEC chapter?
I lean into vulnerability and honesty, recognizing that openness can deepen bonds, build empathy, and provide guidance for others going through similar crises.
#266 - Legacy Planner - Laura Roser
Q: So how would you define legacy planning for an audience unfamiliar with the term?
Legacy planning is about packaging and passing on non-financial assets—like values, wisdom, and stories—through tangible formats that outlive money, such as letters, journals, or family narratives, blending practical steps with a deep, personal purpose.
#270 - Circus/Sideshow Performer - David Darwin
Q: What do you think is going to happen when you die?
I think that I'm going to decompose, and I hope a few folks will miss me; consciousness may not persist, but the awareness and impact in others can endure in memories and understanding.
#264 - Horror Author - Gabriella Hernandez
Q: What do you think happens after we die, given your Catholic upbringing and later explorations of spirituality?
She presents two possibilities—the end of consciousness and the continuation in another form (heaven, reincarnation, or energy-based continuance)—emphasizing that certainty can limit how we live.
