Philippa seems very knowledgeable but does needs to convince the listener she knows her subject by not saying ‘umm’ quite so much. Also Coldridge is Devon not Somerset - I have been there, so her information is not always 100% correct. Otherwise a decent agreement against Philippa Langley’s evidence.
Philippa is lovely and brings some true history gems to her listeners. But there’s also A LOT of chit chat and digressing, and sometimes it takes aaaaaaages to get to a point. This is simply not meant to be audio only. You’ll get more out of it if you watch the YouTube or instagram version of this. It’s like having a relaxed chat with a giddy friend ☺️
Be aware, despite the first episode being rated ‘clean’, there are an awful lot of expletives. Recording quality was not great so difficult to make out at some points.

Listeners can expect rigorous context from historians and authors, lively debates about interpretation, and insights into primary sources, with a preference for connections between long-ago events and their lasting cultural impact.
