  • Nicely Curated

This podcast reminds me of TED Radio Hour, which is good. There’s a curator to let you know what to listen for - like in Ep. 1 when he says “wait til the second half when the guest speaker comes in.” And he trims away the extraneous / dead spots, so they don’t kill the flow. First three episodes are filled with quotable knowledge nuggets. I’ll be back for more.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Kim Stanley Robinson: The Fight for Planet Earth
Q: What role should geoengineering play in addressing climate change?
Geoengineering should be reconsidered and discussed with precise terminology, focusing on specific interventions and governance, rather than branding them as inherently dangerous; the discussion should include risk assessment and governance across nations.
Kim Stanley Robinson: The Fight for Planet Earth
Q: If you could change anything in Ministry for the Future four years after its publication, what would you change?
I would include less unexplained ecoterrorism and remove the unwieldy blockchain reference; there are better codes and clearer ways to discuss information distribution and security without overcomplicating the message.
