Love this podcast! I'm 10days post op and have been listening since before my surgery and still here. The host and guests are so knowledgeable, relatable and definitely fun. Makes the whole surgery experience less scary and like the amusement ride it should be. Definitely feel more supported in my journey.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What is the difference between a tummy tuck and a 3D body lift? | Dr. Aric Aghayan
Q: Are you pro-lymphatic massage? Do you recommend them?
I am 100% pro-lymphatic massage as part of the recovery strategy; it helps reduce swelling, speeds up resolution of fluid collections, and can improve overall outcomes, though I tailor the approach depending on the procedure and patient needs.
What is the difference between a tummy tuck and a 3D body lift? | Dr. Aric Aghayan
Q: Are you team drains or no drains for your abdominal plasties?
Drains are decided case-by-case; I may use drains for large-volume liposuction to prevent fluid buildup but may skip them in thinner patients with less liposuction, prioritizing safety and fluid management depending on the intraoperative circumstances.
Entry #2: Surviving a Tummy Tuck & 47 Terrors with Hillary Herbert | The Recovery Diaries
Q: What preparations helped you before surgery?
She explains meticulous pre-op setup, such as staying in a hotel the night before, arranging a home-like recovery environment, packing two bags, arranging support and meals, and planning for a vacation-like recovery mindset.
Entry #2: Surviving a Tummy Tuck & 47 Terrors with Hillary Herbert | The Recovery Diaries
Q: So what surgeries did Hillary have?
She describes a sequence starting with a labiaplasty and vaginoplasty, followed by a tummy tuck with muscle repair, liposuction, fat transfer, and later brow lift, rhinoplasty, neck lift, and breast procedures, each paired with personal reflections on outcomes and recovery.
Is Poor Blood Supply the Reason Your Plastic Surgery Scars Won’t Heal? | Dr. Monica Wentworth
Q: What makes blood supply so critical in flap or tissue movement during surgery?
The viability of the tissue relies on adequate perfusion; if blood supply is compromised, the tissue cannot heal properly, leading to wound breakdown and prolonged recovery, which is why the surgeon plans around preserved perfusion and perfusion-respecting techniques.
