Why are butter knives so dang useless? They aren't sharp enough to cut anything and they aren't even that good at spreading butter. How did we end up with an *almost* pointless (literally and figuratively) weapon on the dinner table? Bee Wilson knows... more
Do you judge books by their covers? Don't lie. That's what covers are for. We judge books by their covers and sometimes we judge poorly. I avoided Emily Henry for so long because her covers didn't appeal to me. I'm super glad I got over it though bec... more

Did i immediately go out and buy this book you were talking about upon finishing episode one? Yes. I always enjoy listening to talk chat and share your thoughts on literally anything and it was such a treat for you to start a podcast that fits into what has been my personality since I learned to read; books. Anyways, keep its coming and Gwenna let’s be friends I’ll arc read anything you ever write and would love to just chat all the time about books 😂🥰
Seriously, I’m so excited for this show. I’m a writer myself, and I even attended college for a creative writing degree, so I can attest that writers generally LOOOVE talking about books, especially books we liked. It’s such a passionate, nerdy pastime for us, and it’s genuinely enjoyable! I have been waiting on the edge of my seat since this show was announced, and I have a pretty good feeling I’m going to enjoy it thoroughly.
I already love this duo from their other podcast, and I love the dynamic where Gwenna is at 100% excitement about the book of the week and Tori is completely clueless but intrigued! Looking forward to getting lots of book recs from this podcast.
I’m really looking forward to more of this. You two talking about shared interests reminds me of sitting down with my own friends and special interest rambling.
I’ve got a book suggestion. It was required reading for my medical anthropology class and it left a mark that’s just as impactful today as it was almost 20yrs ago. “The Spirit Catches You And You Fall Down” by Anne Fadiman.
Thank you, you two spectacular humans, for not only be in going this deliciousness to our ears, but also for the spoiler alert!
Listened to Ep 1, need to devour the book, and then (ANDEN?!) will come back to listen to the end of the episode. Love.
