  • Amazing lineup in Philly!

Can’t wait for the episodes so I can hear the sessions I missed at the inaugural ASOTU CON in Philadelphia. Amazing speakers, conversations, and information. Most of todays thought leaders from automotive gathered in one space discussing a space they are passionate about. Thanks Kyle, Paul, the ASOTU team, and everyone else that made this possible.

Why the Best Leaders Create More Leaders
Q: How do you hire for those three talents and what traits matter most?
We focus on meaningful human connection, the ability to solve the core problem, and strong performance in their role, supported by candid conversations about how they want to spend their time and how they will contribute to the team's mission.
How a Phone Camera Became a Sales Machine
Q: How much money have you spent on the production of your videos that are making you a lot of money?
Speakers share that costs can be minimal, with many using just a smartphone and free editing apps, and that monetization on platforms often offsets or even negates marketing spend.
How a Phone Camera Became a Sales Machine
Q: Question, Sheridan?
The panel discusses why many people fear starting with video, emphasizing consistency, authenticity, and starting small—treating social media like a simple FaceTime call rather than a high-bar production.
Why Great Employees Fail in the Wrong Seat with Chad Graves
Q: What role does feedback play in identifying the next leader?
Peer-to-peer feedback is invaluable in spotting who would excel in a leadership position; peers can point out who is ready and who might need more time, and it helps surface those who can coach others effectively.
Why Great Employees Fail in the Wrong Seat with Chad Graves
Q: How do you handle training and promoting people to management roles?
Use clarity on what success looks like for the role, frequent check-ins with a mix of metrics, and a willingness to admit you don't know and involve experts; you should also have a plan to re-seat people if the fit isn't right rather than forcing a promotion.
