  • Industry Slop

Started off interesting, back when Musk would occasionally reply to some of his posts and his page actually got engagement on X.

How to burn your “brand?” Hire two incredibly off-putting hosts, one of whom rarely speaks (from within the industry, of course), transition to a newsletter that seems more like an ad platform than actual news, and host interviews that are really just sales pitches.

  • Ask a hard question

Started out as a cool podcast. It’s just turned into the person being interviewed bragging about themselves.

  • Time well spent

I recently started listening to the show and now look forward to listening daily. The only downfall to listening during my commute is the inability to take notes. I started listening a second time to jot down notes and how I want to apply some of the things shared on the show. Thanks for a great product, keep up the great work CDG team!

"We Fired All Our Managers!" — Lessons From a $500M Expansion (& What It Took to Make It Work) | David Wyler, CEO of Jeff Wyler Automotive Family

The immediate post-acquisition period involved relief after closing, then a deliberate push to spread the Wyler culture and coach everyone up, treating integration like a long-term coaching project rather than a quick fix.
"We Fired All Our Managers!" — Lessons From a $500M Expansion (& What It Took to Make It Work) | David Wyler, CEO of Jeff Wyler Automotive Family
Q: What would someone see at your headquarters that would surprise them?
Wyler says you would immediately notice the culture in action—coaches instead of managers, rooms named after coaches, and a recruiting atmosphere that feels like a college campus where coaching and training are central, not just administration.
Fixed Ops Friday w/ Bob Keuhl, John Bishop, and Vince McIssac | Daily Dealer Live
Q: What role does technology play in your 2026 strategy for parts and service?
Technology is used to improve efficiency (ordering, VIN scrubbing, pricing alignment) and to connect disparate areas (parts, service, online) while ensuring a customer-first approach; however, vendors must justify ROI given thin margins.
Fixed Ops Friday w/ Bob Keuhl, John Bishop, and Vince McIssac | Daily Dealer Live
Q: How do you approach retention and employee life cycles to improve loyalty?
