  • Communism Much?

Show made by wokesters and ex-hippies. Listen to Autoline Daily for the same news without the bad flavor. Episode from Sep 6th, 2025 was the final straw for me. Love or hate Musk as much as you want, but to argue that a 1/8 compensation package for VALUE CREATION in new value as somehow “criminal” shows the commie flag flying hard. The covetousness & envy is disgusting. Then the idea that UNREALIZED capital gains should be taxed in an off hand comment continues the narrative of economic illitera... more

  • Could be improved

The overall content can be presented in lesser time, and better structured. Conversations. Feels dragged. Also scope can cover more with global focus than just around US.

  • Great content, hard to listen

I force myself to listen because the content is timely and valuable, but the “read the news” format is really hard to stay focused on. I end up having to rewind often as my mind drifts. Would be so so much better if it used a typical podcast conversational style. My preference would be that they trash the script and speak from bullet points.

  • Snooze fest

If you like the delivery style of NPR radio you’ll love Automotive News Daily Drive. The delivery style of a librarian telling you what happened in the auto industry. Very little opinion and analysis and what they do offer is so vanilla as to never offend OEMs. If you want more interesting daily auto news with actual opinion and analysis try Autoline Daily.

  • It was fine, but now all it does is push electric vehicles and most of the news is electric centered. Pushing tailpipe emissions without disclosing the negative environmental harm electric batteries and their manufacturing process creates.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

March 12, 2026 | Diesel price spike squeezes North American suppliers; Honda cancels 3 EVs
Q: What is driving Honda to cancel these three EVs, and what does the shift toward hybrids mean for its EV strategy?
The cancellation is tied to declining EV demand, changes in federal tax credits, tariffs, and weak performance in China, leading Honda to reallocate resources toward hybrids and a new hybrid powertrain for commercialization after 2027.
March 16, 2026 | Trump tariffs cost automakers $35B; Bosch’s Mohammad Fatouraie
Q: Walk us through how you arrived at the $35 billion figure and what surprised you most in the data.
The analysis covered around 12 to 15 months of automaker financial reports, focusing on tariffs paid rather than projections, with adjustments for companies that hadn't publicly broken out numbers; the result shows broad impact across all majors, with Toyota singled out for the largest hit due to its US sales and import structure.
March 17, 2026 | Nissan hops on reverse-import bandwagon; Venturis CEO on supply chain crisis
Q: Why is the industry seeing a shift in advertising practices and what does that mean for dealers?
Regulators are targeting misleading pricing and the industry is moving toward greater transparency; dealers may face changes in how prices and fees are presented, with final out-the-door costs becoming more scrutinized.
March 13, 2026 | EV registrations plunge 41%; Stellantis dealer upbeat on new products
Q: We talked about this new Texas DMV legislation about registration requirements now in the state of Texas. What are your thoughts on that and how it might impact your sales and business here?
The broader sentiment is cautious optimism; there's potential for a common-ground solution that could reduce hurdles for re-registering and purchasing vehicles, but the exact policy details and timelines will drive how quickly dealers can adapt.
March 15, 2026 | Bonus Episode: Plug CEO Jimmy Douglas’ 2026 used EV predictions; testing 2026 Dodge Charger in snow
Q: Why is it crucial for dealers to decide whether to be all in or all out on used EVs?
Being halfway in is risky because it leads to slower sales and missed opportunities; full commitment aligns staffing, training, and inventory strategies with the evolving used EV market and lease-return dynamics.
