  • Communism Much?

Show made by wokesters and ex-hippies. Listen to Autoline Daily for the same news without the bad flavor. Episode from Sep 6th, 2025 was the final straw for me. Love or hate Musk as much as you want, but to argue that a 1/8 compensation package for VALUE CREATION in new value as somehow “criminal” shows the commie flag flying hard. The covetousness & envy is disgusting. Then the idea that UNREALIZED capital gains should be taxed in an off hand comment continues the narrative of economic illitera... more

  • Could be improved

The overall content can be presented in lesser time, and better structured. Conversations. Feels dragged. Also scope can cover more with global focus than just around US.

  • Great content, hard to listen

I force myself to listen because the content is timely and valuable, but the “read the news” format is really hard to stay focused on. I end up having to rewind often as my mind drifts. Would be so so much better if it used a typical podcast conversational style. My preference would be that they trash the script and speak from bullet points.

  • Snooze fest

If you like the delivery style of NPR radio you’ll love Automotive News Daily Drive. The delivery style of a librarian telling you what happened in the auto industry. Very little opinion and analysis and what they do offer is so vanilla as to never offend OEMs. If you want more interesting daily auto news with actual opinion and analysis try Autoline Daily.

  • It was fine, but now all it does is push electric vehicles and most of the news is electric centered. Pushing tailpipe emissions without disclosing the negative environmental harm electric batteries and their manufacturing process creates.

April 1, 2026 | Six years of crisis for auto industry; Mercedes invests $4 billion into Alabama plant
Q: Now, with gas prices rising and EV incentives disappearing, how do these competing forces reshape the industry's long-term strategy around electrification?
Molly frames it as a balance between inflationary pressures and policy incentives, noting that gasoline price spikes could slow EV uptake but also force a reevaluation of electrification timelines. The industry is watching who blinks first on pricing, while manufacturers seek flexible strategies to maintain demand without derailing profitability.
April 1, 2026 | Six years of crisis for auto industry; Mercedes invests $4 billion into Alabama plant
Q: And where do you expect the biggest impact to show up first as the industry navigates remaining vulnerabilities?
She highlights that development timelines are long and that while some companies have diversified and reshored, the next frontier is faster development cycles to respond to shocks, with attention to sustaining price discipline and managing consumer demand as costs shift across tariffs, energy, and materials.
April 1, 2026 | Six years of crisis for auto industry; Mercedes invests $4 billion into Alabama plant
Q: All right, Molly. So interesting article we have online at autonews.com. After six straight years of disruption, how close is the auto industry to a true breaking point?
Molly explains that while the industry has endured six years of disruption, it has built resilience through supply-chain retooling, diversification, and a more flexible workforce. She notes that profitability could still be at risk due to confluence of tariffs, EV losses, and fuel costs, but the industry has adapted enough to potentially avoid an immediate collapse; the real concern is how long these pressures will persist and how quickly manufacturers can respond.
March 30, 2026 | Aumovio’s Dennis Fritsch talks dry brake technology; GM expects growth from subscriptions; Audi axes five-cylinder engine in Europe
Q: What are the main advantages of the dry brake technology?
The technology improves braking performance and safety, reduces maintenance, lowers lifecycle costs, and simplifies certain aspects of production through centralized electronic architecture, with production SOPs planned for the late 2020s.

Q: Imagine buying a car without ever stepping foot in a dealership showroom and having an AI agent do all the negotiating for you.
AJ explains that the AI agent can search, pull quotes, contact dealers, and push for the lowest out‑the‑door price by autonomously emailing quotes and prompting competitors to beat offers, all based on a defined color/trim target and radius.
