  • As above so below

I hate to spoil all the experiences that were life-changing, insightful, and even spiritual, but the truth is there is no shortcut to self-realization. As someone who endured trauma for the first half of my life, it was the work I put into changing the narrative I believed was true. I've seen too many people still believe that one or two psychedelic sessions have done wonders for relief only to see them back at square one a year later.

Healing the human soul is work, and it will sometimes be... more

  • Question

Question on HPPD: good episode but WHY nobody is asking if these sides effects happens only with synthetic molecules?? It's like my pressing question since minute 3 of the episode. I wish this was discussed or reviewed, it's kind of crucial! Poor guest would probably not having these problems with natural psilocybin taken from just mushrooms.

  • Hope they continue exploring other substances

Very interesting listen. I feel like it provides a lot of useful context around these substances that is generally opaque to the general public. I hope they eventually do an episode on esketamine and FDA approval of this drug for medicinal use. A lot of people don’t know about it.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Oregon Experiment
Q: What do you hope to get out of this?
Mark hopes to feel lighter and have a smoother life after his session.
Will Doctors Soon Prescribe Ecstasy?
Q: Why do you think it took an organization like MAPS to get to this point that we are at today?
MAPS was necessary because no pharmaceutical company would invest in clinical trials for a drug that was out of patent, making it difficult for traditional pathways of drug approval to apply to MDMA.
Will Doctors Soon Prescribe Ecstasy?
Q: So tell me, who is Rick Doblin?
Rick Doblin is a psychedelic therapist who founded the Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) in an effort to legalize MDMA as a therapeutic agent after its ban.
Fair Trade Ibogaine
Q: How does it feel that part of the way to do that involves legitimizing that knowledge through Western means, right?
It feels strange because Gabon's traditional practices were disregarded during colonialism, but it's encouraging to see interest in indigenous culture now.
Fair Trade Ibogaine
Q: What are your plans for exporting Iboga?
We want to cater to different markets, producing both the root and extracts while focusing on increasing local involvement in the medicine-making process.
