Welcome to Boring History to Sleep — the only show where falling asleep in the middle is not only allowed… it’s encouraged. Each episode takes you on a slow, uneventful stroll through the most yawn-worthy corners of the past: treaties nobody remembers, kings who ruled for three weeks, and revolutions that never really got started. Delivered in the softest, most sleep-inducing voice we could find, ... more

I just started listening to this and the comments say this is Ai? Maybe the person can’t talk straight for 5 hours? I can’t and won’t believe it’s Ai until the producers say it’s AI also HT.mn, how can you say the ai is distracting. It’s actually so relaxing fr. I think ur a hater who can’t understand that people can stutter sometimes😠 also there’s no ads in the ancient Sparta episode 🤗😓🫢
The pace at which this is delivered is soothing of course, it is intended for sleep. But personally, I find the level of information and the pace at which it is delivered to be perfect for every day listening.
Yes it is AI, yes it pauses at an odd place in sentences, and yes there is one short advertisement in the middle …. But my main source of entertainment is podcasts, and I am newly in love with this one.
It’s informative without being so much so you cannot retain any facts. I’m learning... more
I’m in San Francisco. Love this podcast.
This is really fun and quite interesting despite its title. And, it’s read in such a manner that it does indeed help you go to sleep if that’s your intention. The main challenge is that the commercials are extraordinarily jarring. It ends up being counterproductive. Ads are necessary, but perhaps better curation of ads to something more gentle or simply having the narrator do it would be a huge improvement.
Clearly AI. Repetitive facts interspersed throughout and then it’s oddly spliced together in lots of areas.
I had high hopes because I love history and these topics appeared to be both new and in long format. Win!
I’m a tired of podcasts covering the same topics - Hitler, Alexander the Great, the radium girls- I get it , they chase popularity and need add revenue but meanwhile I’m waiting to be in awe of learning about something random- like how dust is made.
Pros- It is a nice podcast vo... more
