An informal and candid podcast discussing real world horsemanship with respected and experienced experts. Daniel is a guy who is good with horses. He has a background in cutting where he was predominantly involved in developing aged event horses and started over 1000 head of colts, many of whom went on to win lots of cash. A very bad horse wreck at a horse show, involving his niece, prompted him t... more

Are you interested in learning more about horses? Do you have a wide range (tolerance?) of varying topics & styles of receiving information? This podcast might be for you.
Daniel Dauphin has a great sense of humor, asks interesting questions from a large range & diverse group of people. He talks to some folks I've heard of, & plenty that I don't, covering a huge variety of topics.Personally I find the episodes get better as it progresses (so randomly choose to your taste?).
I recently started listening to this podcast, but I am learning so much. I particularly really liked the discussion with Patrick King that came out while the Olympics are going on. These are hard discussions to have, but are very important. I am excited to keep listening and learning.
Fantastic discussion. Daniel has truly won me over as a lifelong supporter. As we both progress in the industry, it will be interesting to see how our conversation stands the test of time. Perhaps we can reconvene for another chat in the future.
I think what separates an excellent podcast from an average one is the ability of the moderator to ask the right questions. Kind of like a good horseman can get his/her horse to give its best, Daniel has the ability to draw out deep information from his guests. The interview with Patrick King was particularly great.
Daniel is a very experienced trainer who thinks like a scientist or an engineer. There is never any woo woo in his approach. He is down-to-earth and practical. He is open to new ideas, but only if there is clear evidence they are effective. Listening to his podcast is like sitting around the fire with a down home good-ole-boy, but one who knows his stuff and is worth listening to. I have learned a lot from this podcast, and have enjoyed the time devoted to it.
