  • Hmmm

I started listening to this pod wanting to know more about the railroad and the interworkind of it. But, after listening to a few episodes it’s clear this is just another political podcast only willing to shed light on one side of the issue.

  • I look forward to each one

I love how Max gives everyone a voice. The small imperfections in the long discussions put me at ease and inspire trust. The Oil and Gas episode was spot-on accurate in the portrayal of the culture. I loved the Dollar General ones among others. This is important work. Thank you.

Q: Why did you decide to affiliate with the Teamsters, and what does that mean for the ALU's autonomy?
The affiliation provided necessary resources, strike benefits, and organizational stability to survive in a prolonged legal and political fight, while preserving local autonomy and the ability to meaningfully negotiate with Amazon.
Who's afraid of Chris Smalls?
Q: What was the moment that convinced you to push for a union at JFK8, despite the risk and the scale of Amazon?
Smalls recounts a combination of frontline experiences with workers, the urgency of unsafe and unstable conditions during the pandemic, and a belief that grassroots organizing could win against a global behemoth, which motivated him to push for a union and sustain it through long legal battles.
