But when an outsider exposes what’s happening behind closed doors, the temple unknowingly welcomes in a new kind of seeker — undercover detectives. What some saw as a spiritual home, the state saw as a brothel operating under the guise of religious freedom. So what happens when your beliefs might be aga... more

Overall I like the show but this season about the Temple was awful. They didn’t objectively tell the story but rather filtered the entire thing through the subtle message of “they were all victims… and of course the police are bad and did everything wrong” lens.
Good storytelling and strong reporting.
Also, when right-wing pearl-clutchers give you zero stars for being “woke,” you’re probably doing something right (in this podcast’s case, it’s by giving a bit of space to marginalized voices).
It is an interesting story but I didn’t care for the whole “privilege” thing. Especially considering that they were being investigated. This podcast could have been better! The whole part with the trans person could have been left out. It added nothing!!
I don’t appreciate having wokeism pushed on me. That is NOT why I am a subscriber. I can easily unsubscribe!
A beautiful journey of finding oneself. Beautifully narrated and created.
What a wild ride. Amazing that anyone anywhere can watch a Goop documentary about this very practice on Netflix but in another state a woman is jailed for the same thing. Goddess bless
