I don’t disagree with the hosts when they say VM has some issues — of course it does! We’re looking back from 20 years out, and hindsight’s always clearer. But I’m convinced these hosts neither liked nor fully understood the show (they’d be confused about why characters did certain things that I thought were pretty obvious - e.g., they had a rambling convo about Keith bringing donuts to the Fennels that was just painful to hear).
Once they changed the format in season 2, I stopped listening. S... more
I listened to this pod because I am a huge fan of Veronica Mars and I loved Jenny on Buffering. I enjoyed a lot of things about it, but didn’t care for the way the hosts always complained about the scripts, characters, and creator. They even admitted they were over critical in season three and decided to consolidate three episodes into one podcast so they could concentrate on the “positive” stuff. That didn’t even work for them…they went right back to slamming so much of the content. It was ... more
This pod is simply delightful! Jenny is super cute & I think Helen is a great counterpart to Jenny’s super cuteness! I loved Buffering but their recaps got lost in a ton of bs…which can be important but it’s not as fun to relive about a show! I think Helen contributes to Jenny’s lightness in a great way!
I fell in love with Jenny Owen Youngs from listening to her other podcast, Bufferingcast. I binged Veronica Mars a few years ago and loved it so when I heard Jenny did a podcast on Veronica Mars I had to listen. I fell in love with Helen and Jenny after the very first episode. They are witty and super hilarious. Their chemistry is perfect and Lo is the perfect addition at the end of each episode. I highly recommend whatever these ladies work on next:)
I discovered the podcast on the recent crossover episode with Live from Pemberley and have been binging it ever since. I give it 5 out of 5 long lens cameras. I hope Jenny and Helen do another podcast together!
