  • Highly reccomend

This is a fantastic podcast that discusses the issues we all are thinking about and want to talk about. I highly recommend sharing this with the women in your life.

One thought is to maybe make the transitions to advertising a little smoother. When you’re talking about sensitive topics and then a man comes on discussing the summit or other great information it feels a little abrupt and unsettling.

Thanks for tackling these very important issues!

Talking Points

090 - Why Can’t I Stop? Understanding the Inner Battle with Porn & Affairs
Q: Why do I keep returning to porn or affairs even when I genuinely want to stop?
Because it's both a moral/volitional struggle and a brain-based pattern; practical tools, boundary-setting, and structured recovery plans are essential to disrupt what's wired by dopamine and habit.
094 - Restoration or Reality? Navigating Marriage, Addiction, and Boundaries
Q: Throughout repeated cycles of recovery, relapse, separation and a 90-day treatment program, how do I move forward with clarity and strength, honoring restoration while holding firm boundaries?
They advise establishing clear safety boundaries, using timelines to reevaluate progress, and ensuring ongoing support from betrayal-trained coaches or therapists. They emphasize that safety and trust are foundational, and it is acceptable to create physical distance or other protective measures while remaining open to reassessment.
094 - Restoration or Reality? Navigating Marriage, Addiction, and Boundaries
Q: What practical options exist when counseling and groups aren't realistically available right now due to finances or work constraints?
They suggest using free resources like podcasts, exploring scholarship options through Pure Desire, considering local groups via church or Essenon, and working through workbooks while seeking any possible counseling support to maintain sanity and anchor during isolation.
094 - Restoration or Reality? Navigating Marriage, Addiction, and Boundaries
Q: Despite years of counseling and recovering efforts following discovery, I'm exhausted by repeated delays in my husband's full disclosure. How long is it healthy to wait and am I asking too much?
The hosts affirm that full disclosure is a reasonable request and encourage pursuing it with a trained sex addiction therapist, while also outlining how to protect oneself. They recommend a concrete safety plan, documenting unsafe areas, and creating a collaborative but firm timeline to move toward disclosure, including professional support for the betrayed partner.
092 - Rebuilding Intimacy After Betrayal: Orgasm, Erection, and Trust
Q: What should we do if his behavior indicates a potential ongoing risk to me (e.g., sex with prostitutes)?
They advise safety actions, testing, and seeking professional guidance, including having the partner initiate medical consultations to address potential STD risks and to support healing.
