  • Julie S. & Episode 89

Someone in mentioned episode 89 and I agree that I cringed at the way the conversation about “saving ourselves” came across. I’m sure that is not how it was intended, but it definitely sounded off. The coaches are great, but they do not make good podcast hosts. Not sure what happened with Julie S. and when I inquired the only response I received was that she no longer works for LV&Co. She was a great host and I wish her the best. Regardless, I’m still a fan of the mission and I’ll continue to po... more

  • Jesus Centered

It takes a bit to process all the information and come to the conclusion what the next right step is. Our God is for us, we have free will, we have convictions, and we can still have a servant’s heart, even when everything is falling apart.

  • Yikes

In episode 89 the woman she is interviewing says “You don’t need anyone to save you” right after mentioning the church telling you that you need Jesus to save you (along with a man and other things). Leslie agreed. But that is not Christian teaching at all. Beware.

Finding Hope in the Deepest Pain
Q: What changes do you hope to see in the courts and churches as a result of your advocacy?
She emphasizes safety-first approaches, mandatory training on DV and coercive control for judges, and churches offering non-judgmental support rather than pressure to stay in abusive marriages.
Finding Hope in the Deepest Pain
Q: How did you cope in the immediate aftermath and navigate the court's decision on unsupervised visitation?
Hope explains feeling unheard by the court despite evidence of abuse, and how the mental illness and dangerous dynamics complicated safety concerns for the children.
Finding Hope in the Deepest Pain
Q: What were some early warning signs you ignored or didn't recognize as red flags?
She discusses manipulation, gaslighting, and coercive control, including how her husband used her visual impairment to control transportation and limit independence.
