  • Great Eagles Pod

Great pod with Olivia, Jeff. Keep digging on what was going on with Stoutland and Sirianni during the season. The run blocking looked confused at times, it wasn’t just bad health sinking the running game. I can’t believe Lurie moved on from Stoutland and handed the keys to Mannion by design.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Life after Lane Johnson? | 2026 Training Camp
Q: You were there, you were there in the tent. What did you make of what Lane had to say, you know, and what do you think this means for him in this season?
The consensus was that Johnson spoke openly about his potential last season and that the team views this as a rallying point, with a focus on supporting him and potentially reshaping the line around him while evaluating a contingency plan for the future.
The no. 1 thing Jeff and Olivia are watching | 2026 Training Camp
Q: In the mailbag, how might Jalen Hurts' running role change with the new system, and could that affect the offense's dynamics?
The hosts suggest Hurts might run less under center, but could still be a plus-one factor in zone reads and RPOs, which would preserve some mobility and rushing threat without overexposing him.
Offense vs. defense: Why one group is ahead of the other | 2026 Training Camp
Q: What's the status of the backup quarterback competition between Andy Dalton and Tanner McKee?
Dalton has been more comfortable with the scheme and second-team reps, while McKee has shown development; the trade market could influence the eventual decision based on performance in preseason.
Offense vs. defense: Why one group is ahead of the other | 2026 Training Camp
Q: How confident are you about the new offensive line coaching change under Chris Cooper?
Ole reports suggest linemen are positive about the scheme being line-friendly, with Cooper replacing Stoutland and bringing a fresh perspective, though the transition has challenges.
Will Julian Lurie be ready to lead the Eagles? | Inside the team's succession plans
Q: Is Julian Lurie cut out for this role? If he doesn't take over tomorrow, when could it happen, and how might he handle the moment when it does arrive?
The discussion centers on whether Julian will be a good steward and how he might adapt to increasing responsibility, with caveats about the inevitable transitions and the potential shifts in football and business decision-making if he assumes a formal leadership role.
