So thankful for the helpful podcasts of to be the church. It helps me think through how I should pastor and shepherd
It's been a great way to get to know the church I have decided to become a part of. To get the full benefit you really have to think as you listen - you've got two pastors who share the most important beliefs, but then are willing to disagree and discuss, including changing one or both of their minds in later episodes.
I only have one complaint. I've always been susceptible to earworms, and for a recent Lyrical Analysis segment, they played a catchy song with annoying lyrics. Now it is difficu... more
Love listening to the podcast. The content is solid stuff with grounded theology & a bit of humor throw in for free. I’ve been a listener from the start...You might say I’m one of the “Mom’s” since I am of the age to be Tyler’s Mom & almost old enough to be Andrew’s (which is a crazy thought) but hopefully my review still counts 😉😂 Keep up the great work!
I have been a faithful listener since the beginning and am ecstatic to have new episodes to listen to. Tyler and Andrew compliment each other well and I enjoy hearing their two different Christian perspectives on topics and issues that wouldn't be part of a Sunday sermon. Highly recommended.
To Be the Church is a refreshing podcast to listen to for pastors and church leaders. The conversation is candid and the theology is biblical. It’s not too long and the content is varied, so I start each episode knowing I’m not going to be bored with drawn out, repetitive conversations. I would recommend this podcast for all Christian pastors and leaders in the Church.
Also, this last comment is completely random and irrelevant to anything, but I’m really into zip-up hoodies and wear a size ad... more

A thoughtful, theology-forward show led by three church leaders, focusing on what it means to live as the church today. Episodes cover ecclesiology, pastoral leadership, membership, worship, and how to navigate real-world church challenges—from preaching and sacraments to pastoral counseling and church governance. Listeners seem to value candid dialogue, practical pastor-to-pastor guidance, and a balance of biblical fidelity with accessible, everyday application. A notable strength is the balance between deep doctrinal conversation and relatable, humorous moments that make complex topics approachable for pastors, church staff, and engaged laypeople alike.
