The long series about Japanese pro wrestling is the best out there and edited transcript of some of the episodes would serve as the basis for a great book about the subject. Similar to the “Eggshells” book by Chris Charlton. I listen only to the Japanese related episodes and those are the best! *****
The is a proliferation of podcasts these days and it’s hard to whittle down potential interesting releases. The Truepenny Show offers a distinctive transatlantic flavour thanks to the contributors. And James (Mr. Truepenny himself) is one the most knowledgeable chaps in the realm of Japanese Wrestling, particularly Joshi (Japanese women’s wrestling for the uninitiated). If you’re looking for a primer podcast on these subjects this is the show for you.
I don't care about the WWE shows but James Truepenny knows his stuff and is awesome to listen to. His guests sometimes phone it in about shows they were to review but he's always on the ball. Recommended!
I hope more people listen this is great!
Only wrestling podcast I can play in the car while driving with other people and not feel embarrassed about my love for wrestling, keep up the great work.
