  • Ticks all the boomer boxes

I appreciate the insider news that other mainstream podcasts won’t touch (e.g. Prema was offered Arby’s sponsorship that they turned down). However, Tony, c’mon, do you need to refer to women as “females”? What is this Major Payne? Changing the environment to make it more welcoming and open for women to become involved with Motorsport is a bit more than just virtue signaling. It’s really not that hard to update your terminology and perspective.

  • The final four stories podcast was great

Can’t imagine that anybody who grew up in Indiana wouldn’t be able to identify with all of your stories Tony. Well done.

Q: What are your thoughts on David Malukas in the 12-car for 2026?
David Malukas should be competitive and potentially win races next year if the team provides the right equipment, given his oval strength and overall progression, though there's risk if the team structure or sponsorship doesn't hold.
Fast Friday Exclusive: Rick Mears discusses the keys to Indy
Q: How do you approach risk and reward when chasing the pole or a strong starting position?
The guest discusses balancing aggressive setup changes with caution, keeping pace with speed charts, and knowing when to abort a risky lap to preserve the car for the race, recognizing that pole position is desirable but not the sole determinant of victory.

Q: What's the difficulty of a qualifying weekend, and how does Indiana weather affect it?
Rick Mears explains that the challenge is universal for the field and that teams must stay relaxed, monitor weather, and anticipate how cloud cover and temperature shifts impact the car as the day progresses.
