  • In-Car Audios

This is, in my opinion, the best motorsports podcast I’ve ever listened to, and it’s all thanks to the in-car audios Marshall has done! Nothing beats the sounds of a racing engine going all out on track while being recorded by a microphone producing very high quality engine music to my ears! Definitely worth checking out a lot!

  • My IndyCar Friend

Marshall keeps everyone up to date with IndyCar news, but I listen because I feel like he is my friend. Thanks, Marshall (and also because Sebastian Bourdais is one of my favorite drivers since his F3000 days)

  • Wecity WEC!

Only just discovered this show having returned to watching sportscar racing after a long break. So glad this is now amongst my regular listens as it helps to add context to both the news and races surrounding the various championships. Highly recommended to all fans of the sport.

Oh, and Marshall’s nickname of “Wecity WEC” is definitely here to stay. Expect to see it on merchandise next season 😀

  • Could be so much better

Not worth submitting a question unless you are part of a select group. Lots of interesting questions get submitted on Twitter and Facebook but never get answered on the podcast. Instead, it’s just the same group of people every week with the same kind of questions.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

MP 1685: The Week In IndyCar Listener Q&A March 26 2026
Q: Why can't a car continue to run if the hybrid fails, and what exactly happens in the drivetrain when that occurs?
A hybrid failure locks the drivetrain because the MGU remains coupled to the input shaft; there is no neutral disengagement, so power can't be transferred, effectively stopping the car.
MP 1685: The Week In IndyCar Listener Q&A March 26 2026
Q: Is there a growing buzz with IndyCar this season and how does it relate to the NASCAR tie‑ins?
Yes, there's noticeable momentum as IndyCar expands its schedule and TV strategy, which is helping draw more attention and ratings, especially with Fox's involvement.
MP 1684: The Week In IndyCar, Listener Q&A March 24 2026
Q: In your opinion, is Arlington truly a blueprint for future races, and what might change when applying it to another city?
Arlington set a high standard in presentation and execution, and while it proves a blueprint, any replication will require funding, local support, and a similar festival ecosystem; promoters will need to balance spectacle with practicalities like wind management and local infrastructure.
MP 1681: The Week In IndyCar with Alex Palou
Q: Did the settlement of the lawsuit change your approach going into the rest of the weekend?
Palou says that while the case was settled, it's not about a sudden change in focus but about removing a weight that allowed him to concentrate more effectively on racing and preparation.
MP 1678: Zak Brown | A Formula 1 + IndyCar Conversation
Q: What's your all-time favorite race car?
Brown cites Ayrton Senna's McLaren MP4-4 as a favorite, highlighting its significance in racing history.
