  • In-Car Audios

This is, in my opinion, the best motorsports podcast I’ve ever listened to, and it’s all thanks to the in-car audios Marshall has done! Nothing beats the sounds of a racing engine going all out on track while being recorded by a microphone producing very high quality engine music to my ears! Definitely worth checking out a lot!

  • My IndyCar Friend

Marshall keeps everyone up to date with IndyCar news, but I listen because I feel like he is my friend. Thanks, Marshall (and also because Sebastian Bourdais is one of my favorite drivers since his F3000 days)

  • Wecity WEC!

Only just discovered this show having returned to watching sportscar racing after a long break. So glad this is now amongst my regular listens as it helps to add context to both the news and races surrounding the various championships. Highly recommended to all fans of the sport.

Oh, and Marshall’s nickname of “Wecity WEC” is definitely here to stay. Expect to see it on merchandise next season 😀

  • Could be so much better

Not worth submitting a question unless you are part of a select group. Lots of interesting questions get submitted on Twitter and Facebook but never get answered on the podcast. Instead, it’s just the same group of people every week with the same kind of questions.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

MP 1695: The Week In IndyCar Listener Q&A May 5 2026
Q: What performances surprised you the most at the Indy Open Test, and what about the overall field stood out?
Marshall notes that teams were broadly capable and that the field looked strong across the board, with no single team clearly out of the mix, though the Indy-only entries often showed less cutting-edge readiness compared to full-time teams.
MP 1693: The Week In IndyCar Listener Q&A April 24 2026
Q: Chris Kaleiwicz asks how Mick Schumacher's IndyCar adaptation is progressing and whether he gets a real shot at staying in the series beyond this year.
The host argues that Schumacher's future depends on performance and ongoing interest from teams; if he keeps delivering solid results and teams see a longer-term fit, there could be opportunities, but the reality is that his future hinges on sustained success rather than a single strong weekend.
MP 1693: The Week In IndyCar Listener Q&A April 24 2026
Q: Taylor Solmos asks what it will take for Alex Palou to consistently beat competitors, and where his crew has the edge.
The panelist emphasizes Palou's metronomic pit stops and the overall team culture, noting that consistency and reliability in execution—more than occasional speed—drives championships, and that Palou's team has built a durable, repeatable process.
MP 1693: The Week In IndyCar Listener Q&A April 24 2026
Q: Sam Anidiotis asks why the initial Long Beach start wasn't waved off with a large gap, given the field didn't line up well.
The host explains that there wasn't a single pinpoint issue; the impression is that the field's alignment is a collective problem and that officials are looking to tighten the middle ground between too early and too late starts to avoid widespread chaos.
MP 1685: The Week In IndyCar Listener Q&A March 26 2026
Q: Why can't a car continue to run if the hybrid fails, and what exactly happens in the drivetrain when that occurs?
A hybrid failure locks the drivetrain because the MGU remains coupled to the input shaft; there is no neutral disengagement, so power can't be transferred, effectively stopping the car.
