I love tuning into SSR every week. Looking back at the books that defined my childhood is illuminating and oftentimes surprising. Alli has a great selection of guests on, and I appreciate that they also share current adult books that they’re enjoying. There is also a great Patreon community that has connected bookish people around the country.

SSR is like a warm hug from your childhood! I love to see all the books I loved from my childhood covered as well as ones that are new to me. Alli is a great interviewer and her excitement for the topic of revisiting childhood literature shows through!
SSR is everything you need as a reader: nostalgia of your favorite reads growing up, thoughtful conversation, and a cozy vibe to pour yourself a glass of wine and revisit these books that shaped our childhood! I could listen to episodes of Babysitters Club and Sweet Valley High (off of the spinning metal rack at the library) all day. Alli has built an awesome platform with a niche but relatable angle to incorporate into adult reading lives. She also leads a great patreon book club!
Love this podcast! It’s so fun to hear a critical discussion on books I grew up with from modern authors. Fun conversation, yet witty and conversational - a great weekly listen!
