It’s a lot more than a report on Columbia River shipping. It is, as Joanne Rideout says in the show’s intro, about all things maritime. The Ship Report is gentle, accurate, and always interesting. If you dream about sailing, or have spent years at sea, I think you’ll enjoy this podcast.

Joanne Rideout has a fabulous voice plus her curiosity coupled with her research brings fascinating topics to live.
I’m only an occasional visitor to Astoria, but I do enjoy this program everyday now! The most relaxing 10 minutes on the radio today.
I’ve been a fan of The Ship Report online and on public radio for years. A great way to keep up with the comings and goings on the Columbia River, plus the whys and wherefores of the decisions being made. You know what they say, “It’s complicated,” but with The Ship Report it all makes sense.
