Reviews

4.5 out of 5 stars from 17.2k ratings
  • Ugh what happened

They used to have a rotating error of men and women of a quite eclectic group. They were amazing and wonderful. Their new host for the last few year is bad. Boring and completely uninteresting. If they were trying to save money they succeeded. If they were trying to keep it fresh, exciting, and interesting they failed. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

  • my go-to for daily news

Jane's brilliant and honest commentary keeps me sane in these crazy times when most news is normalizing a lot of fascist and dangerous stupidity with their silence.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Democrats Add Tax Cuts To Affordability Agenda
Q: Why now, given Democrats do not control Congress or the White House?
The senator argues affordability is a pressing, broad concern raised by voters and local elections, and the proposal aims to address that across income groups while financing it with targeted taxes on high earners and potential wealth taxes.
The Iran War Is Fueling Antisemitism
Q: What struck you about the letter and Kent's perspective?
Zack Beauchamp explains that Kent's view blends legitimate concerns about Israel's influence with a conspiracy frame that portrays Israel as manipulating U.S. policy, which risks normalizing anti-Semitic explanations even as it discusses foreign policy.
MAGA Meltdown Over Trump’s War
Q: What stands out about Joe Kent's letter and its impact on the administration?
The letter is notable for challenging the Iran policy, painting the war as misaligned with good conscience and suggesting distrust in the administration's handling, which signals a serious fault line within Trump allies and indicates potential future defections or shifts in support.
Can Big Oil Grease The Courts?
Q: What did oil companies tell us that wasn't true, and how does that compare to the tobacco and opioid cases?
He notes that whistleblowers show internal documents proving that Exxon and others knew about climate risks long ago but chose deception; unlike tobacco and Purdue Pharma, these cases focus on deception about long-term harm and the resulting damages rather than a single product misrepresentation.
Can Big Oil Grease The Courts?
Q: Before we get to the Supreme Court case, what is Boulder County suing these companies for?
The guest explains that Boulder County is suing major oil companies for deceiving the public about fossil fuel products' role in the climate crisis and for the damages caused, arguing there is a documented record of misrepresentation dating back decades.
