  • Episode 273 disappointing

Normally I love this podcast and the host is delightful. I really had an issue with episode 273, the guest on this episode mentions exposing her children to use of fertility dolls by other cultures to make them aware of the beliefs of others even though it’s not what we believe, so they can be respectful??? Also, she seems more interested in talking about race than Jesus. I’m a person of color but first I’m a follower of Jesus.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Brian Smith and Ed Uszynski on Youth Sports Idol or Disciple Maker (Episode 285)
Q: Is there never a time to correct or input after a game, or should we wait for the car ride home?
There is a time for input, but the car ride home is usually the worst time to correct; instead, use the car ride for relationship-building and then address specifics later, guided by a broader mission of discipleship.
DONT MISS THIS Controversial Sex Questions Answered with Dr Juli Slattery (Episode 284)
Q: How should couples handle extremes in sexual expectations, like one partner demanding sex too frequently or one avoiding it entirely?
Both extremes miss the heart of intimacy; partners should pursue sacrificial love, communicate desires and boundaries, and seek counseling when needed to rebuild trust and connection within covenant love.
DONT MISS THIS Controversial Sex Questions Answered with Dr Juli Slattery (Episode 284)
Q: Why has sexual content become so normalized in culture and even in Christian marriages?
The church has been historically quiet about sexuality, and culture streams constant sexual messaging through media; a deeper cultivation of biblical sexuality and discernment is needed to counterbalance these influences.
DONT MISS THIS Controversial Sex Questions Answered with Dr Juli Slattery (Episode 284)
Q: As believers, where does your heart break as you see us compromising on God's design for sex?
The heart breaks most where people feel a breach between their sexuality and God, often due to silence or legalism, leading to shame and distance from God; the path forward is understanding God's design, pursuing biblical discernment, and building a healthy, covenant-centered sex life.
Excel in Social Skills and Etiquette and Teach your Children to do the Same with Monica Irvine (Episode 281)
Q: Can you think of any of George Washington's chivalry lines that would still apply today?
Yes, for instance, 'it is not polite to hum or sing in the presence of others that would cause distraction' emphasizes the importance of being mindful of others.
