The honesty knowledge and wisdom was just what I needed. I come back to this particular one often. I share it every chance I get. I love this space and the podcast. I’m very particular I’m sure as we all are about who we listen to and why. I’m happy to be able to add this podcast in as a part of my spiritual walk, bible study and ma... more

  • Favorite Podcast!

I listen to a variety of podcasts and Family Life Today has always been my favorite! Ann and Dave are always laughing with each other and the people they interview, so I always feel like I’m entering into a living room of people who are having a blast yet learning about the Lord with vulnerability—and I’m invited! Though I’ve never me Ann and Dave, there podcast makes me feel like I know them and they are some of my mentors as I navigate being a young mom and wife.

Us In Mind: Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Marriage: Ted Lowe
Q: How do you change your thoughts, think positively about a partner who has broken trust?
You begin by recognizing the truth of your feelings and considering seeking guidance from a counselor to navigate the relationship.
Why Control is Exhausting (and How to Let Go): Kevin A. Thompson
Q: What if the wife says, but it's your role in your lane to lead, especially spiritually, and you're not doing it, which makes me pull into your lane?
It's important to focus on what you can control, rather than forcing your spouse to adhere to your perception of their responsibilities.
Why Control is Exhausting (and How to Let Go): Kevin A. Thompson
Q: What about a wife who thinks something is in her husband's lane, but he doesn't see it that way?
In that scenario, it can be useful to include an objective third party to assess the situation, as rigidity often stems from unhealthy dynamics.
Tired of Carrying It All? How to Stop Worrying--and Bring Peace Back to Your Home: Kevin A. Thompson
Q: Is there a sense of all this control, influence, and even acceptance of God's lane in my life? Is any of this in your mind as a pastor, Bible student, theologian related to Genesis 3?
The failure of our first parents was an inability to stay in their own lane, which illustrates a larger theme about the dynamics of control and acceptance in human relationships.
Good News at Rock Bottom - Ray Ortlund
Q: How do we minister to a spouse that is at Rock Bottom?
Jani explains the importance of being empathetic and reminding them of their hope in Jesus.
