You should pair this with your Tour viewing in some capacity. It’s a smart listen, and I regularly find myself laughing at Phil’s insights. Some podcasts move slow, you can listen at 1.5x, not this one and thank you for that!
Phil does a great job of deciphering what happens in the race on many more levels than any TV commentators could possibly imagine.
He hits on what it’s like to be a rider, what’s happening on a larger level than just stages and how the riders interpret what we’re seeing.
Phil does a a real gift to all us cycling enthusiasts!
Chapeau!
I could listen to Phil talk bike racing - and a lot more - all day. But I love how quick and crisp these are - so I can still have a life outside of following racing!
Phil Gaimon is an English major turned professional cyclist turned author turned retired pro-cyclist turned YouTuber turned Podcaster. He also likes dogs and cookies. This is exactly the perspective and voice cycling media has been missing.
Thank you for making these brief and insightful. Some Tour Podcasts either last too long (an hour plus) or they are very “snarky ex pros”. I enjoy your humor and straight-forward delivery of contents. Sense of humor is spot on!
