  • Food for the heart and the brain!

Jennie is so warm-hearted, kind and inviting in her interviews, I’d love to sit and have a conversation with her myself! This is the next best thing. I’m listening to the episode on buying farmland and it’s full of great practical info but also emotional depth. I think that’s pretty indicative of the podcast in general. Will keep listening!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 46: Overwintering Dahlias in the Ground, Zones 5 and Warmer
Q: Do perennial dahlias still need to be pinched?
Yes, they do, but you don't need to be nearly as delicate about it. We just use hedge trimmers at my farm, or you could use a weed whacker.
Episode 46: Overwintering Dahlias in the Ground, Zones 5 and Warmer
Q: Do they need to be divided every couple years so production doesn't diminish?
No, not in my experience. I know some growers who dig and divide every 5 years or so, but I have not done that. Mine have been in the ground some of them for 10 plus years now.
Plant Tissue Testing Explained with Bryant Mason
Q: What is the value of tissue testing?
Tissue testing provides insights on the nutrient status of plants, allowing growers to understand their crops' nutrient uptake and make informed decisions about fertilization.
Feeding Our Own Biomes with Functional Medicine
Q: Do you have any tips for people involved in wedding work?
Focus on pre-planning meals, staying hydrated, and engaging in stress relief practices like herbal teas and Epsom salt baths.
Feeding Our Own Biomes with Functional Medicine
Q: What are some actionable steps women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s can take to adjust their food choices?
Women should focus on a high-protein breakfast, stabilize blood sugar, and incorporate strength training to support their changing bodies.
