The podcasters make a lot of mistaken assumptions about the history of the game. I think they only “played” for about thirty minutes before trashing OD&D. With the right Referee, and an open mind, They could have had a better first experience. But now they have decided to poison it for other people who haven’t had a chance to even give it a try. Thats my opinion of the podcast. Please don’t assume these folks were correct. Find an experienced player of Original D&D and give it a try.
Very few times in life do you stumble upon a group of people who know so little about the topic that they are presenting themselves to be experts in.
OMG. Episode 35 is just wall to wall misinformation. They don’t even know what they reviewed. They keep saying they reviewed “original D&D” but they played the third iteration of the Basic edition. They spouted off so much incorrect information, I mean do a little research.
And the misinformation continues in episode 36. Is research really that hard?
There no sugar coating anything with these people! If they love something, they'll tell you! If they hate it they'll tell you that, too! And, they explain why!
