S3 was not as good as 1 or 2, and I am about 4 episodes behind on S4, but enjoying THE STORY so far. The only thing that I have been disappointed with thus far is the sound mixing, not sure if CR fired their sound person/team or what has happened, but the volume changes from excited highs to solemn-stony lows, is way too far apart. Y’all aren’t amateurs, you’re better than this. Listeners shouldn’t have to be adjusting volume every 15 minutes just to be able to hear Mulligan’s story. You wanted ... more
Too many ads, too quiet to listen to on OSHA headphones at work. Very unfortunate.
Campaign 2 will forever be impossible to beat in my mind and I was nervous with C4. I had a tough time getting into it at first but I took a break for a bit, adjusted my expectations, and recently hopped back in…….and I’m in love. Always in awe of Brennan’s impressive character and arc development and ability to make wholesome characters still deeply compelling (not just sugary). Moreover, I’m so inspired by the CR team’s bravery in constantly pushing boundaries (in media, in medium, and in sto... more
Ffs, where did the fun go? Starting to feel like a full choreographed soap opera. Much prefer the campaign 3 and earlier styles where it feels like a real play podcast and not an entirely scripted show where the story is nearly too complex to even follow casually.
I used to recommend people listen to the show but c3 was a downward spiral used to tie up all the loose ends of Exandria. C4 is great because Brennan but as a podcast is entirely used to push the goal of more money for less effort. You can no longer listen to the show and still be caught up to watch because episodes are split in two parts. Not to mention ads are just thrown in to the episode at random without any editing effort to put them in at naturally pauses all to send people to beacon
