  • Mighty fall

This used to be an amazing podcast that I would look forward to every week. It has certainly declined over time.

At this point I find Richard to be intolerable, and struggle to listen to the podcast because of the negativity he seems to enjoy brining to show. It’s a shame that someone who doesn’t like the game anymore, loves to spend so much time talking about it.

  • Every Week

One of the few podcasts I make sure to tune into every week, the goldfish crew is always a blast listening to. They could talk just about anything and I’d be captivated. I am personally a big fan of Richard’s wild takes, Crim’s positivity in the face of negativity, and Seth’s oftentimes balanced takes between the two. It’s truly great show, and I highly recommend.

  • Jinnie fae is a good commander

I just want u guys to know that me and all my 13 year old friend play tabletop magic, we all have like $500 commander decks, and we all have notebooks full of ideas for like $1000 standard decks. The younger demographic is really important, and we’ve probably spent $10,000 on magic combined with just 4 or 5 of us. Younger players!

  • Good show don’t like the pesimis

I love this show but I don’t like how Richard is so negative about a game as a younger magic player I really don’t agree

  • The most honest podcast in the MTG content community

Richard’s negativity is honest and needed in this softer generation of MTG. Seth seems like he holds down the fort on all platforms for the channel(respectable), and Crim id love to sit down and play a game with you because we play the same way. Great show & great work.

Are Strixhaven Charms the Next $10 Uncommons?
Q: What's the best charm for standard first?
Prismari Charm is consensus as the best in standard due to its all-around power, card advantage potential via surveil, and the solid tempo punch from the bounce and damage options, making it the cornerstone of many Izzet-related shells.
Is Thoughtseize Even Good in 2026?
Q: Is Thoughtseize actually too good for 2026 standard?
It's debatable, with arguments suggesting that the one mana cost takes away from tempo and overall game flow, but some believe it could still be viable.
It's Badgermole Cub's World, We're Just Earthbending In It
Q: How hard is it to keep the Goldfish ship running, Richard?
It's not too bad now. Sometimes it just falls apart for no reason, but other times it's just working on new stuff.
Avatar Standard First Impressions
Q: Is Richard still watching Avatar in Japanese for some reason?
No, he watched it in English at 1.5 speed, the maximum speed allowed on Netflix mobile.
New Mox and Siege Rhino Incoming
Q: What food would you ban at your table?
The hosts discuss the potential messiness of eating during gameplay and agree that greasy foods should be banned to preserve card condition.
