  • Needs a personnel change

Jake constantly interrupts his partner with BS rational and Spike is too weak to fight back yet he generally has the more reasoned thoughts.

The weakest show on this station. Jake is completely light headed on anything of substance or history and importance and only repeats his shallow gripes. Spike O’Neill is a saint to put up with him as a partner and tolerate his passive aggressive disrespect.

This station used to have intellectually honest, interesting talent regardless of political angle. Jake however is not one of them. Thus, his reliance on others like the Washington Policy Center, Jason Rantz, and Future42 backed grifter Bra... more

Updating to point out that Jake blatantly misrepresents stories and doesn’t do his homework. He brought up a “Harvard doctor” that supposedly showed Tylenol was bad, ignoring that the character and reputation of that individual was called into questio... more

This is one of the weakest shows on this station. Jake is completely light headed on anything of substance or history and importance and only repeats his shallow gripes. Spike O’Neill is a saint to put up with him as a partner but is much better with other hosts. KIRO seems determined to force this Skorheim dude on the listeners but his goofy pseudo moderate frat boy act is useless and the audience deserves better. He neither lives in nor cares about Seattle.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Hour 1: High On Your Own Supply
Q: What is the likelihood the court will overturn the jury's verdict in the Chop case on retrial?
Attorney Chris Davis explains that retrial success is unlikely; courts typically require clear errors or prejudicial issues to grant a new trial, and the judge in this case is regarded as reasonable, making the motion to retrial a long shot.
Hour 1: High On Your Own Supply
Q: What is the core economic impact of the new income tax on Washington residents and businesses?
Luke Duecy outlines that the tax is intended to raise roughly $3.5 billion annually to fund services like health care and education, but economists and business leaders warn about potential negative effects such as business relocation and higher living costs; the final allocation includes substantial portions for tax relief rather than exclusively new programs.
Hour 1: Main Character Energy
Q: Tell us about the Sonics. When are they coming back? How much is it going to cost the potential owner? Who's the owner going to be?
Luke Duecy explains that the process is in its early stages, with bids and applicants being explored; ownership structure likely involves a billionaire or family with significant cash, possibly private equity backing, and negotiations around the cost could reach several billions, though exact owners and timeline remain uncertain.
Hour 2: Keeping America Safe
Q: Tell us a bit about what this initiative would be, and how does this make our election safer for people, and make sure that people have the right to vote?
The plan is to require proof of citizenship at registration and re-registration, audit voter databases across counties, and ensure that the databases are kept current so that the integrity of the voting process is maintained without altering mail-in voting itself.
Hour 2: Here's The Bad News
Q: Elizabeth, what are the gray areas in Senate Bill 2355 and how might they impact domestic workers and casual labor?
Elizabeth New explains that the four-hour rule and the overall fuzzy exemptions for casual workers create ambiguity about who is covered, leading to potential misclassification and enforcement challenges, with many households unsure whether a private helper is an employee or a casual worker until a complaint is filed.
