This episode has a fresh intro to recap the insane antics of the week and offer up a few recommendations, then we dive back into Simon Morden's Equations of Life. Once again we are joined by Geoff from the Astronomica Podcast.

It's another book episode, which means we are joined by Geoff from Astronomica to use our mushy little brains and read words on paper (or listen to someone else read them at us) and this time we are reading Equations of Life by Simon Morden. The book... more
If you were an adolescent in 2002-2003, Equilibrium ruled. Equal parts Matrix-cool and not-at-all-subtle anti authoritarianism were the perfect mix for angsty young men such as your humble hosts. As an adult in 2026 it's still kinda rules, though the... more

I listened to several episodes, and while I enjoyed the relevant subject matter when they veered into politics, which happens frequently, I just didn’t want to hear it. I’m tired of hearing everyone’s personal manifesto while I just wanted to hear a breakdown and some recommendations of good sci-fi. Especially when the politics discussed aren’t even tangentially related to the media being discussed.
TLDR: If you don’t mind political sidebars you’ll like the show.
Tried listening to an episode “about shadowrun”. It was about Trump. No thanks.

Fantastic series, no question. I binge all your shows. They really help keep me sane while stocking freezers alone all night. May I suggest keeping the anime Ergo Proxy on your radar? A very grim cyberpunk anime from the mid 2000s. Love to hear your thoughts. Keep blazing the trail fellas. 🤙
Finally caught up with all HTLL and hate I took so long to find it. Now when are you guys going to cover a video game? Know Eric at least played Cyberpunk 2077, but if you haven’t played it since last Fall’s 2.0 update and the Phantom Liberty, you really should revisit it.
