One of the best true crime podcasts out there. Every episode is thoroughly researched and packed with information, but the hosts present it in a way that keeps you hooked from start to finish. Whether it’s a cold case or a solved mystery, The Final Trace always leaves you with a deeper understanding of the story. Highly recommend to any true crime fan!
Great podcast! My new fav ! The story telling vs. just a news podcast makes this so easy to listen to. Definitely recommend
Indeed, Hopper's voice on Final Trace sounds learned, compassionate, and perfect for podcasting. The stories he tells are dark and yet, he never glorifies the suspects and always 'traces' the victim as best he can. He even appeared on one of my other favorite shows, Our True Crime Podcast and elevated the great job they already do. Wanna hear true crime done right? Then listen in!
Aside from Hopper’s velvety pipes, the cases are thoroughly researched and incredibly well presented. I also really enjoy that cases are covered in 30-45 minutes. It’s not easy to tell a compelling story while also delivering the details, but The Final Trace does exactly that. Highly recommend.
Hopper’s voice sounds so familiar and reminds me of hearing these stories directly from a friend. McKenzie adds a woman’s touch and really helps bring the female’s perspective and thought process. I could listen to them all day. Love these two and can’t wait to hear more from them!

A true crime podcast that centers on disappearances, cold cases, and enigmatic mysteries, told through a chapter-by-chapter storytelling approach. The hosts explore final moments, overlooked clues, and evolving theories with empathy and careful journalism, often focusing on families and the human impact of investigations. Content tends to balance thorough research with atmospheric narration, making cases feel both carefully examined and suspenseful. A notable strength is the consistent, respectful treatment of victims and a willingness to explore lesser-known angles and long-running mysteries. This show is likely to appeal to listeners who appreciate detail-oriented true crime, careful sourcing, and a narrative-first approach rather than se... more
