  • Jack Knows Sports

There’s nobody who knows more about sports in Michigan. And I appreciate the fact that, unlike loudmouth Stephen A Smith, he doesn’t shout at us!

Plenty of good guests, from his lifetime of covering sports, in particular, all things Spartan. Keep up the good work. Good friend of your associate, Lynne T.

  • Nice to hear MSU stuff in warm weather

I got the best of both worlds no snow or crappy weather and listening to Jack and guests. I do miss blue belly Tom but all his guests make up for it.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

*Dave Hochman, Michigan Wolverines super fan
Q: Do you think Michigan will keep or move on from Boynton, and what would that mean for the program's future direction?
The hosts discussed that keeping or replacing a coach depends on future performance; suggestions included continuing with strong leadership if results stay solid, or pursuing a high-profile candidate if there's regression, indicating a balance between stability and ambition.
*Dave Hochman, Michigan Wolverines super fan
Q: What do you think the impact of Dusty May's era will be on Michigan in the short term and long term?
Dave Hochman suggested that Dusty May catalyzed a major turnaround, proving that Michigan could win tight games and compete at a high level, with potential long-term positive effects if recruitment and frontcourt stability remain strong.
* Ryan Field, WABC (New York) Lead Sports Anchor
Q: What does the White House visit mean for the Knicks and the city, in your view?
It's a symbol of national attention and status for New York sports, but mixed optics exist due to politics; fans are torn between honoring the team's success and concerns over appearances by owners and players at a political event.
* Ryan Field, WABC (New York) Lead Sports Anchor
Q: Ryan, how surprised were you when Dusty May decided to coach Cooper Flag in Dallas?
I wasn't shocked given the pipeline from successful college programs to pro opportunities and the financial and lifestyle advantages in Texas, plus the Mavericks' strong ownership and the chance to work with elite players like Cooper Flag.
* Mark Dotson, Attorney and Cooley Law School Professor
Q: Mark, how surprised were you that Dusty May would leave? Did you have an inkling that that could happen when he didn't sign the contract? What were you thinking?
I wasn't surprised; in college sports, pro opportunities always loom, and the decision to leave is often about timing and perceived better options rather than disloyalty. Dusty May's contract situation fit the pattern of players and coaches weighing immediate offers against a longer commitment.
