  • Getting ready for hoops season

First of all, thank you for putting so much content out there about MSU sports. I tuned in for the first time in a while as it’s been a long year as a Michigan State football fan, and I was looking forward to turning the page and hearing a little excitement about hoops, after going to the first game against Colgate. Yes the basketball team has things to work on, but as a Michigan State fan, the team has a couple exciting freshmen, pretty good returning core, and I think fans in general are ready... more

  • Solid

A very die hard fan as a host. I am also die hard but not as biased as Matt is. I wish he would be more realistic at times. This basketball team could go 6-5 just as easily as 11-0 down the stretch. I think 7-4 is much more likely. There’s still obvious holes in this team which Matt heavily ignores. Great morale boost if you like to hype MSU up

COMING BACK? Would Tre Holloman, Jaxon Kohler ACTUALLY return? MSU basketball recruiting HEATING UP
Q: What is the likelihood Trey Holloman would return for a fifth year?
The host suggests it's possible but uncertain, noting there is skepticism about a fifth year given the changing landscape and personal plans, yet keeping open the possibility if the conditions are right.
EXPERT PREDICTIONS: MSU football ranks near BOTTOM of Big Ten; Alessio Milivojevic BRIGHTEST spot?
Q: What is the realistic ceiling for this team in the upcoming season?
The consensus is that eight wins could be a realistic best-case scenario, with a bowl game appearance indicating the program is ahead of schedule in the rebuild, though the overall schedule remains challenging.
SPARTAN CLASH: Does Jeremy Fears MSU basketball squad TOP Cassius Winston, Xavier Tillman?
Q: How do social media and gambling intersect with athletes' psychology today?
Social media creates constant scrutiny; the key is helping players develop a mental shield, stay focused on their own process, and avoid rat poison—maintaining healthy, detached engagement with online content.
SPARTAN CLASH: Does Jeremy Fears MSU basketball squad TOP Cassius Winston, Xavier Tillman?
Q: What is the biggest misconception about being a sports psychologist?
Don Zaksek explains that the most important part is listening and building trust, not just teaching techniques; athletes are often young and carry a lot of unseen pressures, so the role centers on guiding them to open up and progress.
GAMECHANGER: Can Lavar Woods TRANSFORM Michigan State football special teams?
Q: Can Lavar Woods transform a struggling MSU unit in year one?
Year one may show market improvement, but true transformation requires a culture shift and buy-in from all coaches and players, not just a single coordinator.
