  • Getting ready for hoops season

First of all, thank you for putting so much content out there about MSU sports. I tuned in for the first time in a while as it’s been a long year as a Michigan State football fan, and I was looking forward to turning the page and hearing a little excitement about hoops, after going to the first game against Colgate. Yes the basketball team has things to work on, but as a Michigan State fan, the team has a couple exciting freshmen, pretty good returning core, and I think fans in general are ready... more

  • Solid

A very die hard fan as a host. I am also die hard but not as biased as Matt is. I wish he would be more realistic at times. This basketball team could go 6-5 just as easily as 11-0 down the stretch. I think 7-4 is much more likely. There’s still obvious holes in this team which Matt heavily ignores. Great morale boost if you like to hype MSU up

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

IMPACT: Michigan State football recruiting OVERHAULING important position group; 2028 recruiting looking STRONG?
Q: For Pat Fitzgerald, what were some of the biggest wins he had on the recruiting trail for 2027? Also, is it too early to start talking about 2028 recruiting?
Greg highlights Caleb Johnson as a premier grab and notes the staff's success in locking up key trench players, while also acknowledging ongoing battles for several regional targets and the strategic emphasis on in-state talent. He suggests continuing momentum with 2028 prospects already on campus, indicating a long-term, forward-looking recruiting plan.
REACTION: Jeremy Fears RETURNING to Michigan State basketball | Spartans set for HUGE season?
Q: What is the outlook for Alessio Milivojevic and his development in the upcoming season?
Milivojevic is described as a talented but unproven quarterback whose ceiling could be higher than Tier 18 suggests, depending on offensive line play, receiver development, and run game improvements; the discussion emphasizes potential growth under continued coaching and system support.
REACTION: Jeremy Fears RETURNING to Michigan State basketball | Spartans set for HUGE season?
Q: Will Max Bullough's presence impact the defense beyond just the linebackers?
The host explains that Bullough could free up coordinator Joe Rossi to move around the defense, potentially strengthening multiple units, including the secondary, rather than being limited to the linebacker group.
RISING STAKES: Can MSU football recruiting KEEP Gideon Gash in the fold?; MSU basketball Big Ten opponents
Q: Not too long ago to come to Michigan State, but we got a question here, why is the staff not going after Gideon Gash as much as they have other in-state recruits?
Corey asserts that MSU is indeed pursuing Gideon vigorously and that the decision will come down to money versus other factors like family and fit; the staff is in position, and Gideon's offers from multiple big programs keep MSU competitively in the mix.
MOMENTUM: Michigan State football recruiting SURGES as Ohimai Ozolua, Jack Carlson COMMIT early
Q: Do you think they're spending more NIL long term on prep ranks or a mix?
It's a mix, but NIL likely plays a bigger long-term role in retaining and attracting players, with a strategy that looks to future-proof by targeting higher-profile transfers and a steady influx of recruits, including Carlson and Ozolua.
