Professes to love the game and what makes it different from the NFL, and maybe did a few years back, but seems to have completely fallen into the sad media environment pushing the narrative that college football should be about maximizing financial value and the delusion that college football fans only want to watch the biggest brands. Brands are fine but college football is shaped by its local rivalries and culture which are dying. And Pate is helping kill them .

Pate has been a sharp, independent mind within college football (once the greatest sporting endeavor the world has ever known). But unfortunately he has decided to associate himself with the undeniably corrupt 4-letter network, whose only interest is milking college football for every cent they can.
