  • SEC homer…

There’s plenty of space in the podcast world for people who want to support their team or conference. However, Mcelroy tries to make people think he’s playing it down the middle when he is such a homer. Still thinks SEC should have had more teams in the playoff.

Q: How do you manage the quarterback competition with Philo, Tramell Jones, and others in the room?
We keep a clean slate with everybody, evaluate practice performance, leadership, and football IQ. Competition is healthy and should push all players to elevate their play without assuming anyone has the edge due to familiarity with a coordinator.
1-on-1 with Jon Sumrall + Notre Dame, Penn State & Oregon questions | Always College Football
Q: Walk me through how you approached rebuilding the roster after you joined Florida, particularly with the portal and retention strategy.
We started by evaluating what we could retain, then used the portal to fill depth and key positions. The goal was to create a balanced roster with a mix of veteran presence and young talent, focusing on fit, scheme, and culture rather than chasing pure star rankings.
Alabama QB battle, Florida & Tennessee spring recap + 1-on-1 with Pete Golding | Always College Football
Q: How will you balance defense-minded leadership with an evolving offensive staff under your umbrella?
Golding explains adaptively sharing responsibilities, using iPad-based in-game management, and ensuring both sides are prepared with clear plans and roles, while keeping the defense as a focal point of his expertise.
