Hey guys, great show. Question about the “situational stats” that are often referenced by Bud and Tom. How adjusted are these for both teams and specific in game factors? i.e. is a “correct decision” based on the average team, or are these adjusted weekly for team offensive/defensive power ratings? For run vs pass efficiency? What about situations where e.g. the book says go for it on fourth down but the coach knows he just lost his left tackle and his defense has been covering the pass better t... more
Mailbag question for March 19: I think you guys are underestimating Penn State by claiming that they are just Iowa State from last year. For the 2026 team, 4 out of the 5 offensive projected offensive line starters were on PSU last year. Same with 3 of the top 4 linebackers and the top 3 Cornerbacks. We also have our best tight end returning (better than Reynolds). PSU also got transfers from Colorado, Utah, and UCLA on the defensive line. It’s really more like if you mashed the best returning p... more
Half of the projected starters next year are from Penn State from last years team. Then they took the top 20 players from Iowa State. Very different from you just throwing out there that it’s Iowa State.
Per pro football reference Danny has an nfl career long rush of 13 yards. Danny, do you remember this play and can you walk us through all 13 glorious yards? - Tyler
I strongly feel like all of you are overlooking how dramatic of a turnaround Bob Chesney can achieve at UCLA in year 1. Haven’t mentioned the hottest name in the coaching carousel in any of your episodes last month. There’s legit talent on that roster, its been the coaching that’s held the program back the last 3-4 years. Matthew Sluka was a dominant FCS qb in this offense at Holy Cross a few years ago…I don’t think it’s crazy to say that Nico Iamaleava can have a much better season this year. A... more
