As we get closer to June 1 and the true beginning of the summer, the earliest thought embers of what we think about the 2026 season are beginning to glow. However, as those beliefs take shape, we fully understand that optimism doesn't automatically t... more
Let's be honest, a lot of sixth and seventh round NFL Draft picks never come back into our consciousness after draft night...but a few are primed to actually make a difference for their teams in the 2027 season. Dave Helman and Derrik Klassen discuss... more
Cognitive dissonance in the way we talk about Mike Tomlin and Nick Sirianni? Top-five football heartbreaks? The worst QB the Raiders would've been willing to acquire in exchange for this year's number one pick? Yup, it's another edition of The Athlet... more
Our Buy or Sell Their Offseasons series wraps up, as it always does, with The Contenders. You could fairly quibble with one or two of the teams we have among this octet, but you cannot argue with the idea that each of these eight teams clearly has wh... more

This is the best football podcast with the best host and best contributors. Period.
They have their blind spots and unwillingness to go to certain places but they’re good. Although inevitably every season they’ll start talking up Packers, Ravens, and Justin Herbert + Trevor Lawrence specifically. When that happens as I listen I make rather crude and insulting hand gestures as is required when glazing occurs. They fundamentally think about a certain segment of QBs very differently from me and I can’t bring myself to get their view point.

These guys have ruined sports reporters for me. After their intelligent analysis I can’t listen to local sportswriters asking inane questions at press conferences and making analysis fitting for a second grader.
Simply the best podcast on football. Organized and intelligent. Doesn’t get bogged down in stupidity. Doesn’t have dead air
Frustrating that Bryan would pose a question to y’all then talk over you while you’re attempting to answer, like he was totally dismissive as to what you guys had to say.. love y’all but glad that Bryan guy isn’t a repeat guest, he needs to talk less.. Great job on the Beast!

A Deep-dive NFL analysis show that blends offseason strategy, coaching dynamics, draft evaluation, and roster-building debates. Episodes frequently weigh upside versus sustainability, explore how front offices optimize cap space, positional value, and scheme fit, and often anchor discussions in real teams and players while maintaining accessible, banter-driven conversation. Noteworthy is how the team fuses rigorous data with practical storytelling, inviting thoughtful disagreement and prioritizing long-term implications over hot takes, which can make it valuable for listeners who want tactical insight into how teams construct contenders and manage risk.
