As a Bengali woman, it is hard for me to find podcasts that relate to topics that are directly intertwined into my life and the experiences I’ve had. I am so thrilled to find representation with this podcast with such an open minded host who speaks up for so many different aspects of life and fights to bring awareness for taboo topics and things that are often stigmatized like mental health, racism, being anti-racism, divorce, substance abuse, eating disorders and many more. I love this podcast because I learn so much about my own desi conditioning and the conditioning of others in the South Asian diaspora. The guests on the show bring a unique perspective and every episode covers an issue our community is scared to talk about. Highly recommend if you want a quick lens inside another culture.
This is the only real podcast that talks about mental health from a desi perspective but is helpful for people of all walks of life. The host not only does an excellent job w guest selection but i’ve learned so much and felt so much better. This is like if humans of ny did a desi version!
Been listening since season 2 and I am continually impressed by the diversity/depth of the topics, guests, and conversations Tanushree has on this podcast. As a fellow Desi-American, I appreciate how the discussions tie back to my culture and make me think "there are others out there who've lived a similar experience". Highly recommend!
