  • Fantastic industry knowledge!

Not a freight broker, but I’m a civil engineer in the transportation field. In which, I deal with a lot of freight on the road and wanted to know more about that industry. Hoping to better accommodate freight brokers, by making their loads delivered in a reasonable timeframe, on their daily routes!

Paul brings great content and humor along with it for all kinds of people that are interested!

    Man I love Freight! ☺️

Scaling a Freight Brokerage to $100M+ Using Offshore Talent
Q: Why start Alpha Staffing and Recruiting after Everest?
Lev explains that Alpha began as a boutique offshore staffing solution born from referrals and a need to support clients with offshore needs, eventually expanding to domestic recruiting and integrating both offshore and domestic capabilities to offer a unique end-to-end service.
Scaling a Freight Brokerage to $100M+ Using Offshore Talent
Q: What were the main benefits of having a team in Ukraine for Everest's growth?
The guest describes how offshore staffing allowed Everest to pay lower but highly productive wages, create strong relationships with post-Soviet carriers, and scale sales and operations faster than traditional models, ultimately enabling significant competitive advantage.
Scaling a Freight Brokerage to $100M+ Using Offshore Talent
Q: Tell us about how logistics entered your life.
Lev explains how an early interest in geography and maps led him toward logistics, including working in carrier sales and eventually founding Everest to leverage offshore talent. He emphasizes the hands-on, non-corporate culture that attracted him to Everest and the excitement of building a team across borders.
Scaling Like a GOAT
Q: How does Epay Manager change the economics of scaling a brokerage without inflating back-office costs?
Epay Manager centralizes data, automates routine back-office tasks, and provides a high-context view of documents and payments. This reduces marginal costs per load, enables faster settlements, and allows brokers to grow without adding proportional back-office staff, thereby improving scalability and resilience.
Moldova: The Hidden Dispatch Workforce Powering U.S. Trucking
Q: What is the biggest lie dispatch companies tell owner-operators?
The hosts and Serge agree that some dispatchers oversell earnings and miles, pressuring drivers with unrealistic expectations; the real approach is to assess how many miles a driver can actually do and align loads accordingly.
